The address of my transaction doesn't match the address I've copied here

Thu Nov 23, 2017 7:26 pm

I bought some BCH and I used the button Receive of my bitcoin.com wallet and clicked on the address to copy and paste it and use as receiving address for my transaction, but I didn't receive any money. Then I checked my transaction history on the website where I bought it (LiteBit.eu) and the address on the order isn't any of my addresses from Bitcoin.eu. I have no idea what happened to have a wrong address. I don't know if it's a failure of the wallet or the trade website.

There's one kind of PC virus.

He is sitting in your PC and waiting for you to copy address. Once you copy some address, it will replace it with its address. So when you will paste it, you will paste his address. He even tries to generate address, that looks similar to copied address. So it's harder to spot.

Is there a possibility, that your PC is infected?

Always double check you are pasting in your address into the address field. As the user above said, there is a virus going around that swaps out your address for theirs to steal your money.

If you don't have access to that Bitcoin address, or another reputable site like your aforementioned Bitcoin.eu or LiteBit.eu, it's highly unlikely you will get your BTC back. Sorry.

If it's a website that happens to be holding your bitcoin, you could contact their support for help.
