Keep getting " COPAYER_REGISTERED. Copayer ID already registered on server." message.

Thu Nov 16, 2017 11:50 am

Hi everyone,

I mistakenly send BCC to my BTC address, and then was instructed to creat a sub-wallet by support group, but I keep getting "Error creating wallet. COPAYER_REGISTERED. Copayer ID already registered on server." message both on my computer (laptop, windows 7 64) and my iPad (iPad 2017 5th gen, ios 11). On my cmputer, I deleted the whole folder unzipped from the zip file (Bitcoin-com-wallet-3.6.0-win64.zip) and the "bitcoin.com" folder (C:\Users\administration\AppData\Local) before re-zipping and re-runnning it. On my iPad, I deleted the app, rebooted the device and reinstalled it, yet the problem remains.

I haven't got reply from the support group ever since, so I decided to come here for help.

Is there thing I can do to solve the problem?

Thank you very much.

Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are two entirely separate cryptocurrencies and they operate on two entirely separate blockchains. This means that Bitcoin (BTC) sent to an address on the Bitcoin blockchain will never appear nor be present on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. In this instance you seem to have sent a Bitcoin Cash (BCC) transaction to an address in your Bitcoin (BTC) wallet. Note that in the Bitcoin.com wallet you can set up both a Bitcoin (BTC) sub-wallet and a Bitcoin Cash (BCC) sub-wallet.

You can do the following to retrieve your BCC from your BTC wallet:

- Go to Home > New wallet (press the '+' icon) > New personal wallet
- Select the Bitcoin Cash option, as you want to recover your BCC. (Grey is off and sets up a BTC wallet, green is on and sets up a BCC wallet)
- Enter a name for the wallet (I would suggestBCC recovery) > Show advanced options > Wallet key
- Copy from wallet... > Select Wallet To > [Your Bitcoin [BTC] Wallet]
- Create new wallet

This will create a Bitcoin Cash (BCC) wallet from your Bitcoin (BTC) wallet seed.

- Once it has been created, go to Settings > [BCC recovery wallet] > More Options > Wallet Addresses > Tap 'Unused Addresses' at least 20 times / until you get an "Empty addresses limit reached" message
- Tap 'Scan addresses for funds'

Your BCC will now appear in your BCC recovery wallet.

Again, you can manage both Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCC) in your Bitcoin.com wallet, but you must not send BTC to a BCC address and vice-versa. You should send BTC only to addresses in your Bitcoin.com BTC sub-wallet, and you should send BCC only to addresses in your Bitcoin.com BCC sub-wallet.

Thanks for your kind reply.

But I cannot create a sub-wallet now because of the " COPAYER_REGISTERED. Copayer ID already registered on server." problem.

I'm also getting this error message when I try this. Were you able to find a solution?

Please try this;

Could you please try to to add a new wallet using your recovery phrase.
When you open the Bitcoin.com wallet tap on + next to the "Wallets" heading, then select "Import wallet" enter your seed and follow instructions.

Not sure if this will work but it is all i can think of just now, give it a try and let me know the outcome.

Nope. I got a message from the tech guy. He said that he'd already reported my issue to dev team. I'll be notified when there is a reply. 6 days hass passed, no reply, though. I don't think I can get my money back.
