I'm lost don't know where to find my bitcoin address

I am trying to use Bitcoin. I have downloaded the windows thing because I am on a laptop and have windows 8.1. Everything was downloaded but seemed like gibberish. I found a narrow box, that allowed me to secure my wallet and the next step is to buy Bitcoin. I click that button and it asks for a Bitcoin address. I went back into the wallet and there was a QAR (?) symbol with a long number under it. That is not the bitcoin address. It's evidently for receiving funds and I want to buy and then send funds.
I've tried several things, read the tutorials and re-read them and can't find anywhere to find my bitcoin address that will allow me to buy bitcoin to put in my wallet. I just need the secret button to click to get where I can find my address.
Can someone please help me? I've been working at this around 4 hours and am getting frustrated.

You can find your Bitcoin address for receiving payments in the Receive section of the Bitcoin.com wallet. It is the long string of numbers and letters starting with '1'. Please note that this address will change each time you receive a payment, however all previously used addresses can continue to receive payments into your wallet.
