Transfer BCH to BTC wallet

Hello:

On 11/15/2017 03:08 PM I transferred BCH coins from my Bitcoin Desktop Wallet to a BTC wallet on Cryptopia, I got 89 confirmations already and the status of the Bitcoin Desktop Wallet is SENT with the current balance of 0 on both wallets. I'm very worried about what happened to my funds, can I please get some help? I made sure the destination address is the right one: 16cuKeUCwY6hng16rBBLBxc9jbm8qBDt9n.

I might be able to help you as i had same issue today.

Try below instructions :

You can use https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ to get your private key from the recovery phrase (this should be from destination wallet).
But: Take security precautions!
1. Move the Bitcoins from that address to a safe address first.
2. Make sure you do this on an offline computer, a Linux live CD is best.

Once you have it you can use some exhange like Exodus which allows you to add private key and move funds around.

Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are two entirely separate cryptocurrencies and they operate on two entirely separate blockchains. This means that Bitcoin Cash (BCC / BCH) sent to an address on the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain will never appear nor be present on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. In this instance you seem to have sent a Bitcoin Cash (BCC) transaction to an address in your Bitcoin (BTC) wallet. Note that in the Bitcoin.com wallet you can set up both a Bitcoin (BTC) sub-wallet and a Bitcoin Cash (BCC) sub-wallet.

You will have to contact the support team at Cryptopia regarding retrieving your BCC

I already tried several times to get in contact with Cryptopia team support but they don't seem to be as helpful as you guys are here, just want to make sure I do as much as I can in the meanwhile ... I'm sorry but I just started a few days ago and I'm not sure once I get the private key from the recovery phrase from the destination wallet how to transfer it or move it to a new wallet? The destination wallet was my BTC wallet in Cryptopia, where do I get the recovery phrase in Cryptopia? ughh ...I'm so frustrated .. but I very much appreciate your help ...... hope to hear soon from you !!

I am not the PO but no, Cryptopia is an exchange. Users dont have access to private keys.
