Bitcoin cash wallet lost?

Fri Nov 10, 2017 8:17 pm

I had a bitcoin wallet from before the split (created in July), then, after the split, my phone got wiped, but, I was able to restore the wallet using the 12 word pass phrase.

Today, I was following the instructions at https://www.bitcoin.com/guides/how-to-a ... sh-bcc-bch

But, when it comes to the last step, to import the wallet from the 0 balance wallet, if I use the same 12 word phrase for the import, it gives an error, something like the code did not work, or there was an error. If I export the 0 balance wallet, and try to import it, I get an error message like already in copay.

Are my bitcoin cash from before the split gone forever?

Thanks for any help.

This worked perfectly, received from the in-app help:

•Go to Home > New wallet (press the '+' icon) > New personal wallet
•Select the Bitcoin Cash option, as you want to recover your BCC. (Grey is off and sets up a BTC wallet, green is on and sets up a BCC wallet)
•Enter a name for the wallet (I would suggest BCC recovery) > Show advanced options > Wallet key
•Copy from wallet... > Select Wallet To > [Your Bitcoin [BTC] Wallet - 'BTC recovery']
•Create new wallet

This will create a Bitcoin Cash (BCC / BCH) wallet from your original Bitcoin (BTC) wallet seed.

•Once it has been created, go to Settings > [BCC recovery wallet] > More Options > Wallet Addresses > Tap 'Unused Addresses' at least 20 times / until you get an "Empty addresses limit reached" message
•Tap 'Scan addresses for funds'

Your BCC will now appear in your BCC recovery wallet.
