In order of time frame here's what I'm wondering about the upcoming forks.

1) If anyone has BTC in their account will the Pool payout any Bitcoin Gold that airdrops on October 25th? Not immediately of course but once wallets are available.

2) With S2X, How is the support looking, I'm hearing it's going to be a rough split, likely resulting in another coin being created, maybe I'm reading it all wrong. I read previously you suggest people withdraw any balance they have here. How soon after the split will the Pool be able to provide profitability information for the S2X blockchain? I'm guessing that if we can mine it you guys will be able to provide wallets for that? Please correct me if I have anything wrong, as I am clearly not an expert.

Manually switched to mining BCC right now.

It's 20% less profitable but I think it would be good for long term value to avoid another EDA, which requires some miners taking a ~20% short term profit loss. Some are still on BCC in this pool, I shall join them!

Need to keep it above 0.5 blocks/hour to avoid another oscillation.

https://fork.lol/blocks/time

Update: Seems pretty solidly mined right now, thank you "unknown" ;) Switching back to auto.

1) We are not planning to give users Bitcoin Gold. Please withdraw your coins before the fork.

2) S2X is still supported by over 85% of global hashrate. We expect the legacy chain to die from lack of hashrate. In the unlikely scenario that the legacy chain survives, we will add support for it to our pool later.

Your email address is not working. I checked the email logs and we get Error 550: No such person at this address

Please email pool@bitcoin.com and we can transfer the contract after you confirm some details with us.

At this point, I doubt even the developers of Bitcoin Gold are planning on giving users any coins.

While Pool.Bitcoin.com has a plan to handle the S2X "fork" I'm sure the recommendation has always been to withdraw your coins and hold them in a private wallet before any major change to the ecosystem.

I was just thinking about this and had a frustrating realization about how useless BTC actually is.

I have some BTC accumulated from pool.bitcoin.com cloud mining, and I know I want to withdraw it before the forks. But I want to do so as close as possible to the fork date to minimize the crazy transaction fee vs. amount sent ratio (issue #1). But I can't just DO that, because if the unconfirmed transaction level is high at the time, my coins might not actually come through before the fork, so I need to keep an eye on it here: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#24h (issue #2). Even with keeping an eye on it, if I'm too late and the unconfirmed transaction count starts zooming up before the fork, I need to put in an excessive fee to transfer the BTC anyway (issue #3).

There is so much BS surrounding BTC and actually using it, it's a wonder anyone still does.

Hi guys,

How do BCC withdrawals work? I see the tab there but it still says to withdraw bitcoin, and states the fee is 0.001 anyway so I don't know if that's the correct one?

Thanks in advance!

Hi epap!

It does say "Withdraw Bitcoin" on the form which is a bit confusing. But at the top of the page the title is "Withdraw Bitcoin (BCC)"

Look for the BCC and you are on the right tab to withdraw Bitcoin Cash.

Agreed. How about afterward, when the dust settles?

Are people planning to go back onto an exchange and trade their legacy coin for S2X? Or BCH?

If I'm understanding the situation correctly, then if one holds on to their legacy coin it will eventually become worthless or close to worthless as it gets replaced with better technology. So, I assume there must be a strategy for what to do after the fork for individual owners.

If 85% of the global hashrate switches and the Legacy coin dies because of lack of hashrate, then how does one move with the changes so as not to lose their investment?

Edit: If this question is better served in another forum since it no longer strictly deals with mining I'm happy to take it there.

Some good news for all the people still caught up in the old banking system and without bitcoins yet is that the Bitcoin.com mining pool will once again be accepting bank wire transfers for mining contract purchases over $1000 :)

Account/Dashboard Charts and stats show no Hashrate as of 6:21:00 GMT (including contract hashrate) for BCC, but Workers page shows active Hashrate for my miners and contract. My miners also show they're submitting shares.
