I've been racking my brain to remember everything. I remember there wasn't a system setup yet with bitcoin (at least whom I purchased it through) to be able to sell it back to them. I did purchase with a debit card, but possibly linked through PayPal (which I'm looking into). I believe it was late 2009 early 2010 that I bought them. Reason it's around that time is because I was the price and remember thinking, "I can get a lot for my money..." I don't remember how many bitcoin I bought but I know it was around the $100 mark worth because I was trying to buy a guitar on eBay and was looking into PayPal and other virtual monies, not from the investment standpoint.
I'm hoping to be able to use my old email address to at least get a confirm that they're still around and not lost with a period of inactivity, if that's possible. I'm not sure that I, or anyone, can access records from an old bank account from 7 years ago that was closed.
I'm looking to find someone who has "backdoor" access to the bitcoin vault (if that's a thing) and use my old email or info to track them down. Since I haven't used them I would venture to say they're purchased and claimed but just sitting there, somewhere. But how to access or track them is beyond me at this point.
Even 2010 seems like a lifetime ago so trying to remember a single day and single accidental happenstance that long ago isn't easy. Remember what you had for breakfast last Tuesday? It's like that kind of remembering. So I'm researching and trying to dream about it. lol
Any help is appreciated and I'll provide as much as much info as possible to assist the research. Also, once they're located and accessible whoever did help would obviously be paid.
Thank you.
Hi iamme,
Sorry I didn't reply until now (I wasn't aware of your reply until tonight when I was searching through my old posts).
Wish I could help but I wasn't into bitcoin back in 2009 or early 2010.
I'm not even really sure how it was possible to buy Bitcoin back then.
The only exchange that I know of (but really I don't know much) which dates back to 2010 is
Mt Gox and i believe that they launched in July 2010.
Also there's no such thing as a "backdoor" access to bitcoin nor is there a "bitcoin vault." Bitcoin is numbers on a public ledger.
Also the only way that your email would help is if you can remember the name of the website through which you purchased the bitcoin. Moreover, even then your email may not be of much help other than possibly gaining access to your account on the said website but maybe not much help with accessing your bitcoin.
Is there any other information which you can remember or look for?
