Well my wallet doesn't seem to be updating with the amount. It says I have 0.00 BTC

Do you create a new bitcoin cash wallet in order to receive bitcoin cash or do you use your bitcoin legacy address ??

First be sure that you use this address and not bitcoin legacy address, then open your wallet -> settings -> in wallets & integrations choose your cash wallet scroll down and click more options -> wallet addresses and click Scan addresses for funds button
