$25 worth of Starbucks for about$18.00 - I just used Foldapp for the first time.

Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:09 am

Wanted to share:

I had a meeting to discuss Bitcoin this morning and we met at Starbucks. My GF asked me to get 2 Starbucks Gift Cards (as stocking suffers) while I was down there and I decided to try out that Foldapp I kept hearing about.

Well I think I have been to Starbucks maybe 4 times ever (and I'm from Seattle LOL... just have never drank coffee) but this experience sold me!!

I went in and asked the Barista if she could help me and I let her know I would be using bitcoin... Well, you already know here response (what's Bitcoin?) but I proceed... went to https://coffee.foldapp.com/ on my phone, selected $10 and then paid about $7.75 (in BTC) for $10 worth of Starbucks and bought one Gift Card... very quickly and then I thought "Wow, that's awesome and easy". So then I repeated... bought another Gift Card for the same amount and then I loaded one more time to buy Hot Cocoa.

Bitcoin is literally too good to be true!!! I can't wait to see what's next.

Thought I would share.

I think Foldapp, and Purse.io are two of the very best tools to drive mass adoption in the USA.

I have used Fold for about 6 months now and my experience has been mixed.

Frequently, I am not credited after sending bitcoins, but I have found that refreshing the page fixes it sometimes. When nothing works, I have emailed their support and they have always come through, but that doesn't help when you are at the cashier at Starbucks. In the end, I spend a lot of money at Starbucks and a 20% discount is worth the trouble. Pro tip: the amount you buy from Fold can also be used to reload your own card.

The biggest problem Bitcoin has with mainstream adoption is that it is too good to be true. I feel like I am holding up a torch in the dark and the citizens are running from the light LOL.

I mean think about it for a minute. 50% off Amazon, 20% off Starbucks. Not too mention all the freedom and power that come with it. It's way to good to be true. I tell people these things and I feel like I am pushing an MLM. I am doing these things and every time I do I'm like "Wait a minute, this is too good to be true" LOL... Oh man, it's too funny!!!!!

I have thought about this (even though I have used it once) and next time I will load foldapp before I get to the location - just to make it easier so I'm not fiddling with things in line. I imagine foldapp 2.0 will be much improved!! I'm very excited to see.
