There you go :) My point is that everyone has different backgrounds and might know stuff others don't. What might be common knowledge to you can be completely new to someone else. It's better to take the time and explain (doesn't have to be long) so the other person at least gets an idea of what you're saying.
and the users never mattered in the equation. all that mattered was highest hashrate (usually) wins and it should be decentralized (distributed if possible) and definitely not centralized. but yes i guess i cede and you are correct, high hash != high users. but bitcoin never cared about the users. all bitcoin wanted, was to exist, and nothing more.
Sure, high hashrate "wins". But my point was that those with high hashrate need to make sure they are not going against the majority of users, since that can cause the users to leave or switch to different currency. The mining equipment is worth nothing if users leave since there won't be anyone who will accept the bitcoin they mine. So even if you have the majority of hashpower, you still can't do whatever you please with the network without making sure the majority of users are with you as well.
