Re: Bitcoin.com Wallet Issues Megathread

I saw that version 4.0.3 of the bitcoin.com wallet had new capabilities to sweep private keys. Would that mean that it's now possible to import BCH from an Android wallet? I would like to test using bitcoin cash...

Getting bitcoin cash from a Schildbach wallet

I just installed bitcoin.com-wallet on an Android phone I have. On the same device I have a Schildbach-wallet. What's the best way to get the bitcoin cash into the bitcoin.com-wallet? I found this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2061691.0 But there's got to be an easier way?

Another ...

Howto select VPS provider

I'm looking into getting a VPS and wondering if anybody knows of a comparison sheet between different providers. That they take bitcoin would of course be mandatory. If nobody has put together a comparison sheet perhaps somebody could recommend a provider? Doesn't necessarily have to be the cheapest.

Re: Transaction in limbo

The wallet did rebroadcast the transaction by it self after some time. After a hour or so, I'm not sure. But that didn't help much as the order had expired and I had to go through a bit of hassle to sort it all out.

I wish there was a manual rebroadcast option for situations like these.

Transaction in limbo

I just tried to make an online purchase using bitcoin, it didn't go so well.

I'm using Bitcoin XT version v0.11.0.0-2b918be and connect over tor. The problem was that my tor node was down when I sent the transaction. When I didn't receive confirmation from the payment processor I started to look ...

What happened to the service GETUTXO?

I just switched my full node from bitcoin xt to classic and noticed that there was one less service provided to the network, namely GETUTXO. Why did that one get dropped and what exactly did it do?

Re: Naive question about scaling

Likewise the 1MB block limit is hard coded into the bitcoin client, but there's many different BIPs that would alter it. There's none that have proposed to change the frequency.

Naive question about scaling

There's been a lot of discussion about scaling bitcoin lately and a lot of different proposals have been made. One idea I haven't seen mentioned is to increase the frequency of blocks. There's probably a very good reason why that is a terrible idea, but I would like to understand why. It seems ...

Question: If I were to invest one bitcoin, how much of it could I expect to get back?

Exception in Bitcoin XT

Hi

My Bitcoin XT node just logged twice the following message

EXCEPTION: NSt8ios_base7failureE
non-canonical ReadCompactSize()
bitcoin in ProcessMessages()

Anything to worry about? The node seems to continue working just as before. I'm running on Centos7
