The way to defeat these problems is to develop meshnets. I personally think cjdns is the best tech available today. I would love to see a real union with Hyperboria (cjdns) and bitcoin (all cryptos). Actually, I hope to spend a lot of time this winter working on just that.
It seems likely to me, that if they can access the file structure, which is actually not so hard to do, then they can extract the private keys.

I have to admit that I am a little unsure of how to get things rolling here, lol. It seems that some more brains should come over and work on this. I feel like I could prove to be useful in the long haul, but I would love some hand holding. Besides, obviously this is a community project.

I think a wiki would be a great idea. I can think of so many things that would benefit from a wiki. I have been thinking a lot about how bitcoin and opensource could compete to build the literal and metaphoric roads to freedom. As I see it, a wiki might be the best platform to develop from.
