Re: About Birds Bitcoin SIte

is this safe?

Obviously I’m biased, but I’ve got an extensive background in traditional payments and security, and I’ve designed this service to be very safe and secure. With this service we are acting as a trusted custodian of the funds for now, before they are paid out, so trust will have to be ...

Re: About Birds Bitcoin SIte

Hey all,

We've launched a beta version of our site, which currently supports getting paid for Retweets (as this was the simplest / easiest to implement). We're super excited to be able to offer this service to the community again now that Bitcoin Cash makes it possible :)

Here is the site: https ...

Re: About Birds Bitcoin SIte

Hey all,

I'm currently close to launching a beta version of this that will start off with retweet-only functionality, and it will work on Bitcoin Cash! Bitcoin Cash will enable us to keep small payments, and keep the payouts instant and easy.

If anyone is interested in helping me test, or finding ...

Re: Bitcoin.com Wallet Issues Megathread

This is a minor thing, but I noticed if you click "Do this later" during onboarding when it asks to back up your secret words, the text on the following dialog box still references "BitPay" (creators of Copay), but it should probably say "Bitcoin.com" for brand consistency.

Re: Feed Ze Birds

I believe that there is at least one coder on this thread who is actively working to bring the site back.

Is there? I sure hope so too!

I used to run a similar site on http://re.2et.in. Can we rekindle this project on 2et.in domain ?

I have been developing a more modern version of the ...

Re: Thoughts on 2 party escrow system?

Exactly. And that is a barrier to entry to the market for legitimate users with no reputation. Barriers to entry are an obstacle to free markets.

Yeah, that is interesting. Even with no abuse, there is *some* barrier to entry. If you have 0 reputation, you are always going to have to sacrifice ...

Re: Thoughts on 2 party escrow system?

For a 'dark' marketplace, where a government with alterior motives would act 'irrationally' from the market's perspective, I am not sure.

Imagine this scenario:
You and I are making a trade. I am the "seller", you are the buyer. I am, in fact, a government agent intent on doing reputation damage ...

Re: F2Pool enables "Classic" mining on Core 0.12.0 software

I see, thats a very good point. Thanks for explaining. The reason I was (am?) suspicious, is because we've seen this before where miner's mine different version blocks without actually running that software version. Then when the 'trigger' happens, they don't actually switch, they've essentially ...

Re: F2Pool enables "Classic" mining on Core 12.0 software

This is very confusing, I'm not sure exactly how to interpret this. It sounds like they are running Bitcoin Core (NOT classic), but just setting the version number to make it LOOK like it is classic. That seems like a bad thing to me, but this all seems unclear and confusing.

Re: Feed Ze Birds

Unfortunately it seems like Twitter shut them down (by revoking their OAuth access to their application, which limits ability to get access to tweet information).

Anyone have any ideas on how a new version could get around this, or maybe have a better chance at fitting into twitters rules somehow ...

Hey Roger, is there a reason you have to go with DigiCert? You could try looking at any of the other EV providers here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_Validation_Certificate#Extended_Validation_certificate_identification

I don't have much experience with EV Certificates specifically, but ...

Hey Guys,

I just came across something this week that I hadn't seen before, and was wondering if anyone had any experience, or thought, with doing these in the past.
