Re: How the Censorship in Bitcoin got us to where everyone blindly supports Core and Segwit

The implications of this are quite bad, as none of the existing p2p payment systems are resilient against this.

I guess the idea of p2p money came before its age.

Re: Hoarding Bitcoin is a Good Thing

I don't believe ver even took a first year economics course. I would be blown away if he did. I spent the vast majority of my educational career studying economics. I suspect that is why I was able to recognize the importance of Bitcoin so much earlier than most people. Then engage in dialogue with...

Re: Hoarding Bitcoin is a Good Thing

I don't think you get it, nobody gives a flying fuck about Core anymore, especially not after all these scams. So, you're broke, thats not our problem, go and get a job, don't steal from us and attack our networks.
.
Sadly, most of the network still runs Core. :,(

Re: Hoarding Bitcoin is a Good Thing

No one is arguing that [hodling/investing/saving/hoarding/whatever you want to call it] doesn't help Bitcoin in any way at all, Roger. What you implied in your previous forum post (and what you said in your Twitter DM you would explain in this post) is that your hoarding furthers Bitcoin developmen...

Re: Greg Maxwell's economic ignorance on full display

We are already seeing that starting to happen with the rush to adopt Ethereum. As someone who is holding greater than 99% of my digital assets in Bitcoin, I'm more than a little upset by this. We really should also focus on educating users about the technical limitations of Ethereum and why it real...

It's already happening in the form of Blockstream.

They captured the top devs and main communication channels completely.

Re: Incentivizing developpers to work on Classic

There are also no guns being held to the miners heads either . They are willingly choosing to run core based upon mutual self interest and because their interest's are aligned with the core developers.
No guns, but misinformation, FUD and lies spread on communication channels and media outlets.

Re: Incentivizing developpers to work on Classic

I am merely suggesting that I look forward to the day when other implementations have the same depth and quantity of quality devs that Core does. Stop making this about cheerleading for a side or team guys , we are all in this together and care about the health of the ecosystem , and that means tha...

Re: Incentivizing developpers to work on Classic

The problem with this plan is most of the talented developers aren't interested in working on Classic and would be tough to persuade specifically because the implementations roadmap doesn't make much technical sense. Right now classic has developers like Peter Rizun, while clearly has a decent back...

Incentivizing developpers to work on Classic

It's apparent that Core is still dominant because it has "first movers" advantage, it has funds and/or connections to spread propaganda and that it controls the oldest communication channels. I strongly believe that this could be countered by creating a transparent Bitcoin fund with the goal of dist...

Re: would you buy a marked quantum scifi bitcoin for above par?

Adam Back is a super smart guy. I spent four hours at dinner with him earlier this week in NYC, and learned a lot of amazing things that he has planned for Bitcoin on the technological side. He can obviously run circles around most people in the world when it comes to this. I think it would be a bi...

It is very unlikely that Wright is Satoshi.

I've read all of Satoshi's comments and he never showed tendency to bullshit. Wright did nothing else so far.

On demand mining set up powered by solar

I'm in the middle of planning out my new solar cell system for my house and I was thinking to accommodate a few miners which only turn on when the system generates energy and the total load on the system is less than a certain percentage. Re: Bitstamp Moves to Luxembourg, Becomes First Nationally-Licensed Exchange

Bitstamp has relocated its headquarters to Luxembourg, where it has received a national Payment Institution license. Bitstamp says this makes them the first nationally regulated exchange in the world, whereas other licensed exchanges just have a handful of licenses in various US states. What do you...

Perhaps we don't.
We already had a bunch of orders today, and they were all paid in Bitcoin.
You should set up an open bazaar shop too.

Do you ship to europe? I would order a few things if the shipping is not too expensive.

I think this shouldn't have been released on the main net this early, especially without throughout testing and feedback from a wide range of beta testers. The lack of basic ecommerce features like product categories and filtering makes it very inconvenient as well. I hope this release won't turn of...

Ignoring competition from the countries with the cheapest energy and labour costs when it comes to mining was just stupid.

The story gets funnier knowing that they expected the .gov to be reliable and lower energy prices.

I wonder if they calculated with the coming halving?
