Bitcoin trust comes from your ability to observe the source code and see that it is fair and reliable.

By the same logic, no one owns the sun, but you can trust it to rise and shine every day because we can calculate rates of thermonuclear fusion and celestial mechanics and know that it is fair and reliable.
