Not sure about this, but in the past I always hear about dogecoin and ethereum. Not sure if they're good as of now though. Research on em.

It depends entirely on what you're looking for, for ex. Steem is a great project if you think wikipedia is a valuable resource and paying contributors for content would take it to the next level but it's not a great choice as a purely speculative investment. If a long term speculative investment is what you're after then (imho) diversification is the key, cryptocurrencies are rising en masse but it's a fast developing tech so something that looks highly promising today could easily be pushed out by something with better properties tomorrow.

If you're willing to put a lot of time into it then there are plenty of promising up and coming projects but it can be a minefield, lots of projects that look good on the surface can turn out very shady after more in-depth research and lots of very promising projects fall flat on their face, better to stay with what the markets have already decided is promising if time is an issue.
Bitcoin maximalism is a lot like saying Debian-stable is the only distro and anyone using Debian-testing is a traitor. Rock solid systems have their place and so do advanced features, https://www.dash.org/

And you are saying that dogecoin has value and is a good buy, i don't think so.
It may be one of the oldest coins on the market but it's on the way out i think. It was created as a joke had a good run so the team will move on one day.

@OP, look into coinmarketcap and forget anything out of the top 10 unless you are prepared to take the big risks.
Stick to bitcoin, DASH, Ltc and maybe throw Zcoin into the mix for an outsider.
Good luck
