BCH sent to BTC wallet

Sat Jul 14, 2018 11:42 pm

Hi. I sent BCH to a BTC address due to miscommunication. I’m curious if there is anything I can do to retrieve my money from the address I sent it to. I’m new and it was a large order so I would really appreciate if so could get some feedback or advice.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) can be recovered from a Bitcoin Core (BTC) address, but this can only be done at the receivers end.

I would recommend that you contact the person/company you mistakenly sent the BCH to, and ask if they could help recover the funds for you.
As long as they control the private keys to the address, they can recover the BCH quite easily.

How do I contact the receiver?
If you don't know who owns the address you sent to, then contacting the owner is not easy.

You could send another very small transaction to the same address, and attach a note explaining what happened then ask for return of the funds, but i doubt a stranger would go to all the work of recovering bitcoins for someone they done't know.

Do you know where the BTC address you sent to came from? You must have copied it from somewhere?
