Different sites, different prices?

Thu Nov 23, 2017 4:33 pm

The price of Bitcoin being displayed here on bitcoin.com is approximately $100 or so lower than displayed on Coinbase, why is that? Edited, now it's showing only a $5 difference, but still why are prices different? Thank you in advance.

Yes, every exchange has different price. It only depends on its users.

$100 difference is actually nothing. Check out this live stream of exchange prices http://www.coinparator.com/live/BTC/USD/ and you will easily find exchanges, that differs by $1000!!!

That's nothing unusual. That's how it works and always worked.

Exchanges' price are depend on market demand/supply. Users on these exchanges are the one who put in bids and asks order, they can also take the orders directly from the order book. A good site to track bitcoin price across multiple exchanges is https://bitcoinindex.io/
