Are there any free bitcoin currency exchanges or apps?

Hi I wanted to know if there was a way I could exchange dollars to bitcoins for free or very low rate. I found an app on google that supposedly would allow me to do so I believe it is called Uphold or Coinbase, something along those lines there but I do not know if they are verified or not.

Coinbase is legit company, probably the largest crypto exchange site in the western world. And they are based in US, hence you do not need to worry that they will scam you. as they would not dare to mess with that.

you could also check localbitcoins, and find local sellers or purchase using their service. It is quite safe and reviews from other buyers to confirm the seller. ONLY go for sellers with high rating though.
