_First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for your patience throughout the recent troubles we have been having with Slack. You all do an excellent job representing this digital currency that we love so much. I'm proud to be associated with this group._

As you should now be aware, we have been having concurrent issues with phishing scams and Slack.

*If not, here is a short synopsis:* People were spamming this chat with bogus announcements, leading to the auto-inviter being taken offline and a notification sent to everyone. Because of this notification, many members became active leading to a situation that because of Slack's billing by ACTIVE user, there was not enough funds to pay for this unexpected bump-up of active members. This led to my talks with Slack to attempt to come up with a solution. In the end, Slack was not responsive to my negotiations, insisting they are built for companies, not communities. They will not help us to provide the tools we need to manage a healthy, successful, global group of collaborators that Dash Nation is. *A screenshot of their final e-mail to me is below.*

*Takeaway:* We have outgrown Slack, and we will only continue to grow. A thriving commmunity like this deserves the proper tools to manage itself, and Slack was not accomodating to that end.

*So what now?*

Over the last little while, we have been having open discussions about the best place to continue the Dash Nation experience. Let me tell you, there are MANY Slack alternatives out there. After much input and deliberation, we have chosen Discord as the replacement for Slack. It has the best combination of features, moderation tools, and accessibility that we require for Dash Nation. As you know, as Dash Nation Founder, your user experience is my priority. *I hope you will enjoy it!*

*How will we proceed?*

Phase one: Open up the Dash Nation on Discord chat room for all to join from Slack. Although nothing will be changing right away in Dash Nation Slack, please join Dash Nation on Discord (DND) as soon as you get a chance to familiarize yourself with the new surroundings. Help each other as well. Please spread the new invite link, which will be below, to anyone who asks, or who you would like to join us. No new members can join Dash Nation Slack.

*In addition, it may be a good idea to take the proactive step of emptying your Dashbot Tip account.* DM "help" to Dashbot for instructions on how to do this.

Phase two: Migrate Dashbot, Moobot, and other integrations into Dash Nation on Discord.

Phase three: Archive all channels on Dash Nation Slack except for #announcements and #dash_talk. We will never completely close Dash Nation Slack, as we will like as many people as possible to join Dash Nation on Discord. It will always be an important, successful part of our history.

At this point, there will be no reason to use Dash Nation Slack over Dash Nation on Discord.

*Notes:* I don't have a timeline for a full migration, but my commitment is to a move that will be as smooth as possible.
