Bitcoin.com, but Bitcoin Cash?

Sat Sep 01, 2018 8:02 am

Hello.

Is this the proper spot for this topic? I'm not sure.

I was informed that bitcoin.com is now using Bitcoin Cash wallets predominantly, though it seems linking is not an option due to my being a new member.

While I am in favor of BCH over BTC, I can recognize the huge financial issue that can result from the general lack of understanding the difference between the two wallets, and how that can result in heavy financial losses.

Since people are, in general, unaware of the distinction between BTC and BCH, wouldn't it be responsible and a good idea, to
1. Rebrand the image of the website to be more in line with the BCH logo, as opposed to the BTC logo, and
2. Put a disclaimer about how BTC and BCH are two distinct and different wallets, and that attempting to do a transfer of a one of them to the other, BCH to BTC or BTC to BCH, will result in permanent loss of funds?

Hello,

Thank you for your post.
I would advise you to read this article released by Bitcoin.com, as to why we think BCH is the real bitcoin: https://www.bitcoin.com/info/bitcoin-cash-is-bitcoin

I should also point out that BCH can be recovered from a BTC address and vise-versa, so funds are rarely lost.
If you are using any wallet the allows you control over your private keys, and mistakenly provide a BCH address to receive some BTC. Then it is just a quick process to recover the BTC from the BCH address you provided.

We recommend anyone using Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to use the "cash address" format, so you cannot get BCH and BTC addresses mixed up.
