One expected use case for bitcoin

This does seem like a great opportunity to spread bitcoin in Turkey.
Too bad Bitcoin doesn't have much extra transactional capacity at the moment.

While i would like this bad news to be kind of good news - im not sure if Turkey is awre of BTC enough to really push this.

I mean volume wise vs world ie push price of BTC up globally

indeed, they are not aware of it and there is only 1 exchange in that country. but it is a start.

The coup is over now and the rebels failed but it could wake a few people up to what might happen if something like this succeeds in the future.
Hopefully some residents will now look into other ways to hold the savings.

As much as I would love to think that all those government people are out of a government job, and never coming back, I have a hard time believing that. It would be interesting to see how many new people they decide to hire to replace the old people who at least had some experience at the job.
