How to reload your Starbucks app with foldapp

It seems a couple people have been wondering how to reload a Starbucks app with foldapp and BTC. There's a lot of benefits and freebies to using the Starbucks app for paying for coffee so how can you get 20% off every cup and use the app?

It's a bit tricky because you can't just import the card into the app. Foldapp won't give you the pin you need to do that.

However, if you:
1. Buy a foldapp card with bitcoin, and then keep it on your browser (although I take a screenshot with my phone and use the screenshot in case the browser suddenly decides to do something funny, and
2. Ask the barista to reload your app and have him/her scan your Starbucks app barcode.
3. Then, instead of giving a credit card or cash, give him/her your fold app barcode to scan. All the money you put on the foldapp card will be transferred to your Starbucks app and you an now use the app to make purchases.

I always add another step at the end:
Go to Coinbase or another exchange and buy the same amount of bitcoins I just spent, so the amount of bitcoin I am holding never changes.

did you already use foldapp? what was your experience?

Yes I did. It was pretty simple and easy to do.

I was a little worried because I had heard reports sometimes they don't like scanning it because they 'don't accept bitcoin'. . . so once I took a screenshot and cropped out the bitcoin part so it just looked like a gift card barcode.

I don't think they really care though, as long as the machine does it.

Unfortunately a lot of countries aren't supported by foldapp. But when I'm in a country that does support it, it's my go-to method to buy Starbucks. Paying 20$ for 25$ worth of coffee is a deal too good to pass up.
