Bitcoin slogan-mission statement?

Hi Bitcoin community.....in an effort to expand the Bitcoin outreach/awareness, I thought it would be a great idea for Bitcoin to adopt a slogan/mission statement to help with global perception. After all, neuro-linguistics shows us that words do have a meaningful impact regarding our understanding. Additionally, it would go a long way in unifying the collective energy behind Bitcoin and if we can show that to the world-it further validates the fundamental strength behind Bitcoin. My idea would be to start submitting slogan suggestions on a very popular forum that would attract all participants. We would need to engage all, such as developers, users, investors and business owners alike whom are all involved in the space. The more the stronger. We would need to set up a voting mechanism.Not sure how we'll go about doing this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also regarding any thoughts on the idea?? I tweeted one this morning " Today's imagination is tomorrow's technology" Bitcoin....although I think I think there is better out there. Let's do this!!!

Hi Mike,

I like the idea of generating awareness using clever, catch slogans or hashtags. I don't think the community should agree on one single slogan for Bitcoin. It's not a company or an organization (obviously) that needs to have a single, consistent brand. It risks us mis-branding this as something that's not synonymous with the Dollar, Euro, Yen...and there are no slogans or hashtags for fiat currency.

It's better for people to explain it in a way that is relevant for them, which won't be the same for everybody. One person's currency is another person's investment asset is another person's blockchain technology.

I do, however, think it would be great to brainstorm good hashtags that people could use when tweeting, facebook/LinkedIn posting, or just chatting with friends (as you've suggested) just not with the purpose of selecting one.

E.g., Bitcoin is the same as cash, only less Fed'up
