Recently I was invited to a Telegram group with a bunch of miners in Venezuela who were mostly interested in switching to the Bitcoin.com pool and Bitcoin Unlimited.

One of them was a staunch Core supporter though.

I was explaining to them how the Bitcoin.com pool currently pays several percent more than at least some of the other mining pools.
This one person claimed this was impossible without buying hash rate from someone else, so I explained to him how I can pay any amount of bitcoin I want without buying hash rate from someone else.

He then intentionally took the part where I simply explained how it would work, and claimed I said I was going to do that.

He is a liar, and unfortunately some lazy journalists and other twitter trolls have been spreading the lie ever since.

I hope this post will help correct the lie, and shame David Lopez for resorting to such dirty tricks.

I mean, I guess my biggest problem with his entire post, who cares either way?

If you are paying out extra BTC as an incentive to mine, thanks.

If you are buying hashrate and redistributing the mined funds to your miners, also thanks.


Seems silly to me that anyone cares what you do as long as it's above board.

The additional funds pays for additional mining power, it's a helpful bonus!

Pay what you want, who is to say what you can or can't do, especially a bunch of manipulative frauds.
