The privacy of cryptos - good or bad?

Obviously one of the biggest pros regarding decentralised systems and crypto is the total privacy, however is privacy always good? I mean, If someone steals your cryptos, there is no possible way to retrieve them or to know who did it. how do you guys look at this? Is there more to this or something that i’ve missed?
