Bitstamp has cited “high levels of customer demand for Bitcoin Cash” as the principal catalyst for the announcement.

This is very cool news. Now we just need Coinbase, Blockchain and Bitpay (all who have signaled support) to come on board faster than later.
Once Bitpay comes on board, it opens up a whole new range of possibilities. (For instance I believe Vaultoro uses Bitpay to provide their gold buying services).

Looks like many of the major sites will have BCH support in time for the Segwit2x events in November. This could bring an interesting twist, as users will have another well-supported choice if there is a chain split - it's not simply Bitcoin Core vs Bitcoin 2x.
