Giga Watt ICO a good way to start mining?

Sat Jun 10, 2017 7:12 am

Been considering doing the Giga Watt ICO http://alturl.com/ugese I would hope they would add bitcoin.com pool support but for now I think it only supports slush. 3.3c kwh and when not mining you can rent it out to other miners to generate income, 36% return. The miners at Giga Watt are sold out except a litecoin miner I think, but you can order from Bitmain and have it shipped directly to them to have it hosted. They also do onsite repairs. So compared to home mining which would benefit me with heat in the winter, my electric is .09c kwh which now is highly profitable but who knows in future and obviously not as good as 3.3c kwh.
I searched the CEO on coindesk and lots of good articles http://www.coindesk.com/?s=dave+carlson
Instagram shows the build out progress https://www.instagram.com/gigawatt_mining/
And local government economic development is supportive, short 6 minute interview they mention gigawatt on local radio, so at least they don't have to worry about a hostile government toward mining or Bitcoin http://koho101.com/2017/03/port-of-doug ... ness-park/
So I can buy more miners if I don't spend on this ICO, however these tokens will outlast miners and generate income when mining or by renting tokens out. Which is better, max out on miners at home or put half in ICO half in miners to be hosted?

Giga WAtt has miners back in stock, if you're gonna do the ICO do it before price rises to $1.05 http://alturl.com/ugese

Really no opinions on this? Massive miners now or ICO with longer lifespan and lower power costs?

Personally I am happy with the return I get on ViaBTC cloud mining contracts. They charge 10.95% for power cost and a 6% management fee. That means I get 83% of the daily bitcoin mined while they keep 17%. I don't have to worry about downtime or miners breaking. If I was going to buy 10 S9's I would host them with Eric Mu of SinoHash in China instead of Giga Watt.

This is much cheaper than those rates, and cloud mining you are renting not owning miners which is why most of them turn out to be ponzis and eventually take everyones money. I've seen too many ponzi cloud miners to take the risk.
I trust this more than cloud miners or hosting in China https://www.instagram.com/gigawatt_mining/

That said I can buy more miners and host them at home, just not as cheaply. That's only thing holding me back from investing in the ICO even though the tokens last longer and will generate income for years to come if I used the money for miners I could generate more income immediately.

You are welcome to stick with either of those options, but here are a few things:

1) Mining at home can be quite difficult, as in large portions miners can produce overheating, be very noise and eat up a lot of elictricity cost - at Giga Watt everything is taken care of by the staff and ensure to have extremely low costs

2) Taking part in the ICO will allow you to reserve facility space for you for up to 50 years - it is your decision whether you'd like to use tokens for own miners and get discounted hosting with no rental fees, or rent those WTT tokens out to other miners to generate rental income. Also, this option will allow you to compare home mining with mining at Giga Watt, as at first, you can have some miners running at home and at facilities, therefore having a clear comparison of performance and results :)
