Bought my first bitcoin and I have an issue.

Hi guys,

I downloaded the bitcoin.com app and opened a wallet. I then clicked on buy bitcoin which took me through to Simplex... I bought the bitcoin and checked my wallet in the app and there was nothing there.

I contacted Simplex support and they gave me a link to Blockchain which showed my transaction and my wallet ID so it looks like the transaction was successful but for some reason it’s not showing in the bitcoin app and I have checked the Wallet ID and they are identical.

It’s been over 24hrs now and I am not too sure why I can’t see my bitcoin in the app but the money has left my bank and I have a receipt so to speak. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Did you accidentally use your BCH (i.e., Bitcoin Cash) address to receive BTC (i.e., Bitcoin)?

I bought about $1,500 worth of Bitcoin through the bitcoin.com wallet about 36 hours ago and I got an email asking me to confirm it, but I still haven't seen it in my wallet. I've checked all the block chain for my address and it isn't showing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for your help and that has sorted it and I can now see it. I wasn't aware there was a difference. I just clicked receive in the app and entered that address into Simplex and guessed that is how it should be. Where do I find the address I should be using for buying bitcoin?

You're welcome.

If you are on your wallet's home screen you should see a wallet(s) under Bitcoin Cash Wallets and a wallet(s) under Bitcoin Core Wallets.

The wallet(s) under Bitcoin Core Wallets are Bitcoin (BTC).

Next is how to export my wallet? I scan the QR in another wallet and all i keep getting is ''unsupported private key format''.

Any ideas? Or can I not export my wallet to another app so its locked with bitcoin.com??
