It depends what you hope to accomplish. Local Bitcoins is not available in some states but has the advantage of better sell rates for the most part.
I prefer coinbase as the fees are relatively low, but the KYC process is a bit invasive for some.

I thought it might be helpful to toss this in here:
https://coinatmradar.com/
The Bitcoin ATM Map that was at coindesk is no longer being maintained and was moved to this new address.
I hope you find a good method that works for you!

I second the use of Circle.
I use them for cashing out BTC to GBP when required, they have a fixed buy/sell rate from what I can work out - cashing out 1 BTC will result in you ending up with more than Bitstamp price at the time. This is paid direct to your bank account in a couple of working days. Circle can be used in the US as well. You will have to go through KYC, but it is a painless process (my experience) and was done in half a day.

Coinbase is very useful for beginners who wants to buy the bitcoin , but It depends from the user's country.
Because Coinbase doesn't accept all countries , including Indonesian (I don't know why Coinbase still didn't accept it)

You can convert BTC to USD using a bitcoin exchange like Coinbase.com or Gemini.com. Alternatively another option could be to purchase gift cards using Gyft.com or eGifter.com.
You can also sell locally in-person for cash using local trader sites like LocalBitcoins.com.

Easiest way is to do on ATM or on exchanges that offer
btc to usd pair. I usually use coinbase to exchange it, but one of the best ways for me is bitcoin ATM because I get cash on hand
