First you will need a bitcoin wallet so you have somewhere to keep your coins.
I would suggest the Bitcoin.com wallet, you can manage both Bitcoin Core (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) from within the Bitcoin.com wallet.
You can download the wallet from here:

To get some bitcoins you will either need to purchase some or acquire them another way, such as working for them or selling something for bitcoins.
Bitcoins are money so you will not often get any for free.
Once you have some bitcoins in your wallet you can either choose to hold these hoping for a price rise or spend them at one of the many merchants they now accept bitcoin as payment.
If you want to cash out your bitcoins then you will need to setup a account on a bitcoin exchange.
