Some questions, halp

Hello, I just bought my first sum of bitcoin currency. It's been probably 3-4 hours. I don't much understand about this world yet, but I though on investing a bit.
Here are the steps I took:
I downloaded the bitcoin.com wallet on my windows.
I followed instructions and did some backup thing.
I tried to add some bitcoin to my wallet. I did all this from the bitcoin.com site, and it had something to do with simplex.

I copied the address that I had in the bitcoin.com wallet Receive page. I don't understand this thing.
I did all the tings and got confirmation from Simplex that my transaction has been made.

I see no currency on my wallet.
Do you see anything that I did wrong? some step I didn't take? Should it take so long? did I lose my money?

Got some questions:
I'm quite confused about the address thing. In my bitcoin.com wallet I found an address bar on the "receive" window and copied it as the destination. Was that the correct thing to do?
What if I generate a new address?

Did I understand this correctly: This bitcoin.com software on my pc is the wallet I have. It's the only place I could manage my bitcoins? I could transport this on my usb drive?
or was there an account I created that I could use to use another software to look into my wallet? can I use the same wallet if I download this on my phone?

and what about the backup thing? do I need to backup often or do I always use the first word combination I got?

Alright, so I got my bitcoin to my Personal wallet after I had it backed up, I deleted it, and then I imported it.
Somehow it just showed up after that.
I did try to do stuff from https://walletsupport.bitcoin.com this site. I couldn't make it work following some instructions.

Answer: It appears, bases on what you've stated above, you've done everything correct. The 'buy bitcoin' service is offered through Simplex, we are partners with them. Sometimes when there are lots of orders Simplex may get backed up a little bit. You should receive your bitcoin soon if you haven't received it already.

Answer: Yes, that is correct. Yes, you may generate new receive addresses and the previous receive addresses all remain valid and you may use any of them for receiving.
