How to crowdfund Bitcoin for a project?

Hello everyone,

I have done a fair amount of research into Crowd Funding but I wanted to find out, how one can go about Crowd Funding Bitcoin for a project we're working on? In South Africa, we have a massive problem with corruption and crime and this project will not only implement but also educate people about Blockchain and Bitcoin as a means to find alternative solutions to the problems I have mentioned.

Naturally, I would need to put forward the idea and if people find it viable, they can support the idea but for now, I need just a high level overview of how one would go about raising the funds using Bitcoin or what platforms might exist to do just that.

If there are some good examples of where this has been done successfully, I would really appreciate it.

A little more detail would be helpful.

If you wanted to use BTC for crowdfunding, it would have to be through a 3rd party. However there are many coins which support crowdfunding natively.
