Dear Bitcoin Community,
To start off, I should admit I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, but I felt this fit most naturally into the discussion of the economics of Bitcoin, as the project stands and falls with the trust of the community.
I'm currently in the process of writing about Bitcoin and the blockchain more generally. My own background is legal, so I am paying particular attention to the innovative use of smart contracts in legal sectors, such as the maritime insurance industry.
With some embarrassment, I must confess that the vast majority of the academic literature is blissfully unadultered by any proper engagement with the actual Bitcoin community. I would thus absolutely love to talk you guys: What made you join the Boitcoin project? Why do you believe in it? I'm not just interested in your views on the economics, but also related political and phiolosophical issues. You need not have a professional or academic background in any of these areas - I would really like to hear from you in any case.
Please feel free to send me a private message if you'd rather share your views in private as opposed to post them in this thread. You should also be assured that all responses will be all anonymised if and when published.
Thanks!
HB
