Are my BTC on the right wallet

Sat Dec 16, 2017 4:51 pm

Hello,

I've created a wallet on bitcoin.com, doing so I had 2 wallet created, one holding BCH and one holding BTC.

I then did my first BTC order using Simplex, but doing so, I've mentionned the BCH address (shame on me). When using the bitcoin app on Windows, I can't remember what I did, but doing so, the BTC were showing up in the BTC wallet...

When I browse to https://blockchain.info/address/BCH_WALLET_ADDRESS --> I see that the BTC I've ordered did arrived on that account
When I browse to https://blockchain.info/address/BTC_WALLET_ADDRESS --> I see no transaction, but the money appear on that one when using the bitcoin.com application...

Can anyone give me a bit of explannation out there ? where are my coins at the end of the day ? Can I still use them using the BTC address ?

Thanks a lot in advance for help & advices, and have a very nice day :D ,

Regards.

If you are already seeing the BTC within your wallet then no, you don't need to do the procedure.

Bitcoins are numbers which exist on the blockchain. These numbers can be sent to different addresses on the blockchain. Your bitcoin is at the address that you provided. Bitcoins do no exist in your wallet, your wallet just shows you the balance of your address and gives the ability to send BTC from your address because you have the private key in your wallet.

You provided your BHC (i.e., Bitcoin Cash) address when you bought BTC but what you really did is use a BTC (i.e., Bitcoin) address that has that same address.

Within your wallet you have the private key for that address. The keys are the same for both chains. The Bitcoin.com wallet supports both chains (BCH and BTC).
