Elektra ICO Review- Is it a Scam?

Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:00 pm

The Elektra ICO is nearly finished after selling nearly 3 million tokens already.

What is Elektra?

They're launching a new cryptocurrency similar to bitcoin. The new currency can be used to send payments for goods and services or to send money to friends.
The main interest for investors however is their lending platform which promises to pay up to 45% interest per month.
The new platform as with all cryptocurrencies will be decentralized, this means that it runs without any central server.

How does it work?

The new platform is simple to use, signing up is as easy as choosing a username and entering your email address. To purchase tokens during the ICO all you need to do is deposit bitcoin on to the platform and choose the amount of Elektra that you wish to purchase.
Once the lending platform is live you'll have the option of using your tokens to purchase a loan contract.

Lending platform

Elektra makes profit by trading based on the volatility of bitcoin, they make a profit no matter if the price goes up or down as they also short it. In return for lending them more money to trade with they're promising to pay investors up to 45% per month interest.
The new platform has a variety of different options ranging from a small investment of just $100 all the way up to $100,000. Interest on loans will be paid directly into users wallets every day. To exchange the tokens back to fiat currency all you'll need to do is send your tokens to an exchange, convert them back to bitcoin and then sell them for your chosen currency.
The return of capital is made from 90- 260 days depending on the amount you choose to lend to the platform.

Why should you invest?

All ICOs are extremely risky, with lending platforms being some of the riskiest. However their 2 main competitors- Bitconnect and Regalcoin have made huge profits for investors, bitconnect was originally sold for just $0.5 per token and is now valued at over $210, that's 420x investors initial investment. Regalcoin looks set to make similar gains after being sold for less than $1 and now valued at over $40.
By combining the lending platform interest with the expected token price increase it should be possible to make huge profits.

Debit card

Elektra state in their whitepaper that they plan to release their own debit card within 12 months of launching. This well allow users to spend their cryptocurrency in shops or withdraw it from ATMs. The new cards will have a daily withdrawal of up to $2500 per day and will be sent to users within 3-5 working days.

Insurance

Unlike any of their competitors, Elektra promises to offer insurance for investors by storing 40% of their funds in offline wallets, this is to insure that they're able to pay back any loans no matter what happens.

Conclusion

Elektra is a risky investment, however it should be viewed as a calculated risk. There's a chance you may lose all of your investment so I wouldn't reccomend investing more than you can afford to lose. I believe it to be a good calculated risk though as the potential rewards are 100x gains in value of the tokens, add this to the lending platform interest and huge profits should be available for early investors.
