I have a Bitcoin Core wallet and would like to get my BCC.

How do I do this?

I am just a 'non tech' investor that helps keep this thing going.

You will need to talk to me like an 8 year old child, I don't know what a node does or is........

Cheers in advance

Don't do anything. Highly likely you will lose your real Bitcoin atm.
Give it a week or two.

To start, get my suggestion verified before you act, as I am far from an expert...only sharing with you a possible solution. I am of the understanding, that you can take your private key from the wallet that is not supporting BCH (bitcoin cash) to a wallet or exchange that is supporting BCH and use it to fund the new wallet or exchange...and the associated BCH would then be available to you.

May I ask to where are you planning to take your BCC(BCH) to? As far as I know there are a few BCH supporting wallets. You need to download the wallet of your choice and import your keys from the "old wallet" to the new one supporting BCH. I have also heard that for security, you need to move your BTC to another wallet before you import your keys as they now will be exposed to a third party.

If you have a Bitcoin QT wallet you need to export your Private Key and Import it into the Bitcoin ABC QT wallet. The Bitcoin ABC QT wallet is currently working - I can see my Bitcoin Cash balance, but no exchanges are accepting deposits yet so you just have to wait.

To export your private key from an Electrum Bitcoin wallet, see the example in the video I did here: https://youtu.be/XaRWNdRW9kE

To export your private key from a Bitcoin QT wallet as for the OP, you need to go into the console to do it.

Make sure your legacy Bitcoin QT wallet is fully synced. Then go to Help > Debug Window > Console tab, then type these commands to show your private key.

walletpassphrase <yourfullpassword> 6000
dumpprivatekey <yourLegacyBTCaddress>

The walletpassphrase command unlocks your wallet for the number of seconds you provide - here 10 mins in my example, so you can then get your key. The dumpprivatekey command will show your private key that corresponds to your Bitcoin address.

Then to import your private key into your BCH wallet, you need to first download and sync the wallet from BitcoinABC.org. Note, this took me almost 40 hours. Once sync'ed follow the steps as I show in the video and I'll provide text version below: https://youtu.be/XaRWNdRW9kE

First, as with anything in this space - turn your encryption on under Settings.

Then go to Help > Debug Window > Console tab, then type these commands to Import private key into your Bitcoin ABC wallet.

walletpassphrase <yourfullpassword> 6000
importprivkey <yourBTCprivatekey>

Again, the walletpassphrase command unlocks your wallet for the number of seconds you provide - here 10 mins in my example, so you can then get your key. The importprivkey command will import private key that corresponds to your Bitcoin address. The blockchain will rescan all the transactions for your BTC address and then when it's done you will see your Bitcoin Cash balance in your Bitcoin ABC wallet dashboard.

Thank you. I don't really want to take my Bitcoins anywhere, just hoping to get my BCC without any threat to my BTC

I don t know if this will help you , but it was simple for me

How to double your Bitcoin into Bitcoin Cash
1. Wallet A – is your wallet with Bitcoin
2. Create a new BTC wallet – Wallet B – (get Electrum Wallet for this)
3. Move your BTC from Wallet A to Wallet B …. WAIT for more then 3 confirmations … that’s what I did anyway.
4. Create a BCC Wallet [ see bitcoincash.org the BCC electrum version : “Electron Cash” ]
5. Import the private keys from wallet A into the new BCC wallet [menu > Wallet > Private keys > Wweep ]

Complete guide here : https://thecryptobot.com/2017/08/01/dou ... 00-tested/

My coins are in a Bitcoin Core Wallet on a different PC

Currently Downloading Electrum Wallet (Basic)

I am given this option

Do you want to create a new seed, or to restore a wallet using an existing seed?

Create new seed
I already have a seed
Use Public or Private Keys
Use a Hardware Device

Which should I use,

Thank you
