Tips for Helping!

Fri Apr 21, 2017 6:12 am

As a little thank you to those who help out other members here I have decided to start giving out a few small BTC tips to those that actively help answer some of the questions we get from the new and old members alike on our forum. These tips will be from my own pocket so don’t expect anything much, just a little something to help pay for your next tx fee.

The way this will work is that if you think you have helped another member solve a particular problem they have then post a link to the thread here and I will look into it, if I can see that your reply has helped the member asking then I will send a small tip to the bitcoin address in your profile.
You can also nominate someone else if they have helped you fix a bitcoin related problem.
This will be completely random so some may receive tips and some may not, it will just depend on how generous I am feeling on the day and how many satoshis I have available to part with at that time. ;)
Please help Ross and his family during this hard time by donating to the https://freeross.org/ fund. Play at the best provably fair Bitcoin games site here: games.bitcoin.com Need a fantastic Bitcoin wallet Pick up some great Bitcoin.com swag here

Would it also be appropriate for people to nominate others that have gone out of their way to help members?

Self nominating is difficult for some, particularly if the intent to help is truly altruistic!

Kudos to you for doing this even though you really don't have to.

These are the things that made me personally like this forum instead of bitcointalk

This is a great initiative Bitkilo! To help crowdfund this, I have donated some btc to your bitcoin address on your profile. I hope these funds tip those people who are helping out the most on the forum!

I am going to give my first tip to another moderator and although this would probably be seen as a little controversial i will explain why.

My first tip is going to our Global Moderator LiteCoinGuy for all his posts about the activation of SegWit on the bitcoin network and what the reasons could be to why it looks like this is being held back by some.

There is so much FUD being spread about regarding the scaling debate and hard fork vs soft fork that the one forum i thought i would see a lot of rebuttal evidence would be here but rarely do i see many of those responses to these posts of LiteCoinGuy's, this only leaves the average bitcoin user like me to think that most of these articles are true. I would truly love to see some more posts from the Unlimited team side refuting the claims in these links but that is for another thread.

My position here as a Global Moderator has made me sit back and look at every post from all angles, i must try to remain a neutral party on most subjects but i can still have my opinion and my opinion is that LiteCoinGuy is doing a great job helping bring awareness to a certain subject in the bitcoin world. He sticks to his beliefs and most of the time is quite professional in the way he goes about things.
Some may see him as a troll but to me he is an asset to the forum, he get's discussions started and if you don't like what he says or think he is just spreading FUD then by all means please bring this to the attention of our members in the threads.

Thanks again for all your contributions to the forum, especially your many posts to the press/ board, Keep up the good work!

Thanks bitkilo, i appreciate the tip and especially the kind words!

I have done something like you (giving tips for help) on the german board here too and i try to help people there.

I would like to see bitcoin (more) united again and after the Bitmain Scandals (Antbleed & blocking progress / attacking the network) we are getting closer to it.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bi ... one-elses/

SegWit and the Lightning Network should be embraced by every real Bitcoiner because we will scale the system to billions of transactions and make use cases possible which we cant have today - and all that without losing the robustness of bitcoin!

People should take a minute and watch:

We can even buy coffee with LN and change the world - so everyone gets what he wants ;-) .

Hello Members,
It has been a few weeks so I have decided to give out another random tip

My second tip will go to a much more worthwhile member than I sent my first tip to, unfortunately after I sent my first btc tip to the first recipient LiteCoinGuy it seems like the money must have went to his head because he turned all crazy not long after.

The member I have decided to tip this time is someone I have notice being very helpful to many of our members here on the forum: greywyvern-u22460/
GreyWyvern has helped answer users posts and always in a nice way, he even made a fantastic mining calculator for us without even being asked just to help potential customer of the Bitcoin.com mining pool calculate what the plans they are looking at purchasing may generate in the future.

His an overall great asset to the forum here and to show my personal appreciation I have sent a small tip of 0.002btc to your address: 14y9BZtumGtVcH2a2wZzUhLkaHLcBuhu8o
Tx: https://blockchain.info/tx/a91839eeb8e1 ... 3de6e48163

Enjoy the small tip and keep up the good work, the whole team here at Bitcoin.com appreciate your help :)

Regards: bitkilo

Congrats to Grey! Always providing helpful, insightful comments. Great choice!

May I also offer someone for consideration? Ben Perrin has done quite a bit to help the bitcoin community. His contribution here is providing links to his videos but the videos are perfect for the new-to-Bitcoin community member.

I have already PM'd him in the past asking him to add a bitcoin address or send me one so i can tip him but he never got back to me. I will have to check his profile again to see if his added a btc address yet.

He shares several addresses for tips at the end of his videos. He recently started accepting altcoins for tips so that the tipper wasn't paying for crazy bitcoin fees. In addition to Bitcoin he accepts LTC, ETH, and Dash.

Here's a screen shot of his address QR codes. I'd hate to see him miss some recognition due to administrative elements!
