How much hash are we losing in conversions?

Wed Nov 03, 2021 8:26 pm

If there were a way to get every electron all the way from generation to the chips without any conversions or line loss, how much more hash could we get out of every KW?

Good question it can only be answered theoretically because practically it is not possible. You can say if there is no loss you can get about 50X more hashrate out of the chip that way

According to some calculations, it takes an average of 143,000 kWh of energy to produce one bitcoin. But it is impossible to say anything exact, there are so many variables, and hashrate is not necessarily linear over time.
