Milan Scaling was 'meh'

Milan was an interesting experience, though compared to HK ScalingBitcoin a year ago, the feeling was definitely less enthusiastic and more "hmm..." We have come a full year after the world reached a consensus that 2mb was a safe bump, yet here we are with the 1.7mb complex bump still not deployed. I think the only thing the last year has shown us is that the difference in developer opinion is not reconcilable, and Bitcoin is going to have to get used to the fact that Hard Forks are the only evolutionary option the network has in these situations.

We better get used to handling them.

i think Milan was a big success. there is so much happening and research, so much bright minds working on bitcoin! there was never a better outlook for the development of bitcoin than today.

segregated witness will bring alot of cool benefits and that is only one of several good things.

you can find alot of whitepapers and videos on:

You aren't alone!

Users I speak to and read from feel the conference was a waste of time, that it didn't deal with any real issues. Simply put, it was a pump put on by Blockstream to lure innocent students into believing "this is how to scale Bitcoin", and that's wrong.
