More emoticons (smilies)

Sun Nov 22, 2015 3:53 pm

Not sure if you can add to the icon set through the board template or what, but would be really cool if we could get some more and updated emoticons. For example a "thumbs up" icon or just any sort of icon set with various different new options would be appealing. Facebook calls them "stickers" now. :P

A thumbs up would be a good idea, i don't really like the fact that when giving the thumbs up just to like a post it adds points to their reputation, i think the 2 should be kept separate.

When clicking the "thumbs up" icon on a members post it should just say member ..... liked your post.

Yeah smilies wouldn't have any functionality (they don't now anyways). We just need more updated ones.

I can easily replace the existing ones or add more - after all, they are just image files and entries in a database.

Can you guys try to look around and see if you can find any smiley collections out there that seem suitable?

Their usage notice needs to be updated :) http://www.freesmileys.org/free-smileys-usage.php

We just need to make sure any emojis we use are free and open source.
