That has fucked this forum then.

The farmed accounts are moving in. BS meaningless posts, minimum effort, maximum reward.
I know there were not many users here, but soon there will be no real members here, just as on bitcointalk.

There was an opportunity to do things differently here. Reward real posters, not trash spam posters.
Oh well.

Roger Ver, I'm now ashamed of your lack of vision.
Hi rizzlarolla,

Thank you for posting your opinion on this matter, i value all feedback we receive good or bad.

The members on this forum were asked if they would like to have the signature campaigns here or not and we had an overall vote that showed 3/4 of all users who voted wanted them to happen, we felt it best to give them what they want.
Please feel free to create another poll on this matter in your own thread and ask the members to vote, if you get an overall no vote we will reevaluate the situation.

We would love you to hang around and post on this forum, all the posts of yours i have seen so far have been really good and it would be a big shame to lose you over this small matter, especially when you can just hide the other users signatures from view if you wish.
Just go to your "user control panel" and then, --> Board preferences --> Edit display options --> Display signatures --> No

If you are worried that this will lower the post quality on the forum then i strongly encourage that you report any posts with a signature that you would consider spam, once the report is received we will look into it.
Same goes for farmed/sock puppet accounts, if you see one you are suss on report it and we will look at it.

Thanks for your feedback.

Regards: bitkilo.

TLDR.....

Regardless of being paid or not.....

These campaigns are bringing much needed traffic to a forum that could use a boost.

Hey thanks for the reply bitkilo. I have posted in my farmer thread here, hope you read it.

Indeed, it is not seeing the ads that bothers me so much as the BS that comes with it. I've never used the ignore button. I like to know what is going on!
I've never reported with a button either, and do not intend doing so. I'm not that kind of member, you probably worked that out!

Your vote was only ever going to go one way, but that is ok. Signature campaigns just needs a different concept/implementation.

If you had asked "yes, I want the CHANCE of earning bitcoin when posting" that would have been a better truth. It is always upto the manager/payee who is included, and they are usually limited to only some members. Not everyone WILL earn bitcoin by posting.

If my concept would work, EVERYONE would have a CHANCE of earning bitcoin for QUALITY posts.
(it sounds elitist, only the best posts. not so. quality comes in many guises, but very rarely, probably never, does it come from a farmed account)

People are not crazy to pay for signatures if there is no good traffic in the forum.
So when there are actually lots of traffic on a forum, only then some one decides to pay to users for advertising via signature space.

You should be glad if ever anyone willing to run a campaign here.

The problem isn't the campaigns but the campaign managers. A good campaign manager shouldn't pay people for spamming. If I wanted to advertise my business I wouldn't want to be associated with spammy messages.

A little internet freedom will be nice. How about a check box to view and block signatures? I personally like seeing signatures, not just wearing them.

Just be a little strict on spam rules. You don't want to become another bitcointalk.

I think it should be a signature campaign but management must also give strict rules as forum btalk. I see the salaries that are active in this forum only people who follow any signature that too many of them are spam. should you as the moderator must firmly take risks for those who only pursue post to get bitcoin of signature campaing

I do not have a good idea on this board just to make something good of this board requires a process, I just know now is how to push buttons report when there are users of spam coming to make a post, I'm sure you know it's not easy and all it takes the process

I don't think it's elitist at all.

In the real world, everyone has the opportunity to have a job provided they can provide quality work for their payment. Some people provide high quality work or a high-demand service and get paid well as a result. Some people provide very low quality work and don't get paid much or can't keep a job.

Re: Signature Campaigns

I see a few options here, in no particular order.

1. Make a specific sub-forum for people to hash out their signature deals. (Under the Market Place area)
2. Ban all signatures across the forum
3. The forum charges a fee to have a signature that is slightly higher than what the signature spammers are willing to pay. That way, anyone who wants to have a signature for their profile can, but we wont have a bunch of people selling their signature space and cluttering things up.
4. Do nothing.

Any thoughts on which of these are best?

My initial thought is that doing both #1 and #3 would make the most sense.

#4 seems like the most reasonable thing to do.

Money talks and bullshit walks...

Killing a market because peoples delicate little eyes can't deal with something always seemed sorta shitty.

Bitcointalk does a good job with this.

The more value a signature has... the more value the forum has.

I still believe spam and "problem" posts should be addressed (and the user as well of course.)

I didn't vote on this thread.

Current thread poll:
"Yes, i want to earn BTC when posting.
No, signature campaigns create too much spam."

I don't want to earn BTC when posting.
I don't mind people wanting to earn BTC when posting as long as the posts are of "quality".

Actually earning from posting is an interesting idea as incentive to get more lively discussions, BUT only if you are rewarded for useful posts by other members. Like on Steemit

I also agree with you. If a person pays for a signature, then the signing party member will stay on the forum and write a lot of posts. And over time, the forum will become popular.
