Re: Forum.bitcoin.com - 4btc Prize Competition Voting Thread

If it adds any weight we can see every member that has voted so far, i went through the list last week and so far everything looks good.
I will be checking again this week.

The reason why OgNasty has the most votes is that he probably did what he said and asked friends and nasty fans to sign up to vote for him, nothing wrong with that and anyone else could do the same.

@rizzlarolla, i have to clear up a couple of points from your post.

Roger had nothing to do with hiring OgNasty that was me, i was asked to find someone to run the sig campaign and hold funds. I had a bit of a look on bitcointalk for someone i could trust and i settled on OgNasty, i chose him mainly because
A. He is already a trusted escrow provider with no scam allegations.
B. He was looking for work as a campaign manager
So as you see it was win win, i got exactly what we needed in one go.

You also made a remark about rep points, can you explain to me why reputation points would have anything to do with this competition?

That could be so be that is just an assumption. i have lots of rep points but i don't know to many people i could convince to sign up and vote, most people i know don't want to know anything about bitcoin and are probably sick of hearing me talk about it.

I already said if I win the 4 btc I will give one btc to the other 3 winners broken down like this

2nd place 0.5 btc
3rd place 0.35btc
4th place 0.15btc

You'll have to take my word for it, but I'm an honest man.
I think the finalists should discuss this and see if they can come up with a solution that they can all agree and adhere to.

I agree. Although if it were up to me, I'd vote to give the 2nd/3rd/4th place users each 0.7 BTC while the winner received 1.9 BTC. This way everyone gets a good chunk of BTC along with some other cool prizes. All 4 winners would have to agree to this beforehand for me to participate (if I won) and ideally bitkilo would be willing to distribute the funds this way if everyone involved agreed so there is no trust needed between the winners.

tl;dr - I would be open to whatever everyone wants to do if I am a winner, so long as everyone agrees beforehand.

I personally like this solution best. I think most would be happy with 0.7. Maybe when this contest is over we could vote on amounts and see if we can get a majority vote.

The winners have to vote on it which most likely be ognasty, intriguing, decoded and thetamind.

I just thought that someone who went to all the trouble to produce a bitcoin song deserves some recognition, especially a cool song like they made!

The person that posted is the same as wrote the song.
He took the time to post so he has just as much right to win as anyone else.

I realise that he has not been active in a few months but we will try make contact and give him 2 weeks to reply, if no contact it will have to draw again but it shouldn't be hard to contact him since he has a YouTube account and an email address here that he signed up with.
If the email is on his profile you could try contact him yourself about taking part in your split prize agreement but you better hurry because this will close tomorrow morning and once i have set it up its on, next block found by the bitcoin.com mining pool will decide the winner.

Ps, if you really want to get this prize split agreement set up then you should probably set something solid up soon, get everyone to sign an address stating the terms so its time stamped and basically set in stone.

And that's what I will do, I will collect all of your btc addresses after the competition is over and send you your share. Assuming I win lol good luck to everyone we all deserve to win, it's been a great competition and a pleasure talking with you all in here, awesome community and forum. Cheers!

The full prize amount must be sent directly to the winner as per the rules in the OP, if you then want to send it back to be distributed then that's up to you.
Even sending to an escrow would be a bad move because who would wear the blame and costs if the escrow disappeared with the winnings?
Long shot but a few high profile escrow agent have shot through before.

Hmm interesting I still want some prize splits xD and yes I will follow the terms thetamind set unless someone has a deal that seems better.

Also bitkilo what happens when someone ties for the 4th person?

Ognasty has a nice split as well but we need the other people to agree to it xd if decoded agrees to ognastys split I will do it.

Did you see the deal OgNasty put forward a few posts above?

If there is a tie for 4th then we could have a 1 week vote off between the 2 with everyone getting 1 vote, honestly i only started thinking of that before when i counted.

What would our users like to see happen, what would you guys consider fair?

What would our users like to see happen, what would you guys consider fair?
I think the first thing we need to do is find the 4 winners. Then the 4 winners could vote on the option they see fit. I'd prefer if everyone agreed to go with the same plan. I'd also love it if bitkilo would act as the escrow agent here and disperse the funds, which so long as all 4 winners unanimously agree, shouldn't be a big deal.

Again, the 2 proposed splits seem to be this:

OgNasty Plan:
1st prize = 1.9 BTC
2nd prize = 0.7 BTC & Trezor
3rd prize = 0.7 BTC & Bit-X
4th prize = 0.7 BTC & T-shirt

Thetamind Plan:
1st prize = 3 BTC
2nd prize = 0.5 BTC & Trezor
3rd prize = 0.35 BTC & Bit-X
4th prize = 0.15 BTC & T-shirt

If no unanimous agreement can be reached between the 4 winners, I will accept the prizes as they are distributed by bitkilo.

I think if there is a tie for 4th both should get a chance in the draw... only 4 get chosen... someone becomes 5th once the blockchain has decided.

KK it seems 3 of the 4 possible winners agree to it now all we need is thetamind to get 4th and decoded to agree to it as well xD

I don't know where decoded is but, can the three of us, og nasty, intriuging, and I agree to the og nasty split? If not, my agreement still stands.
Yeah I agree with it I assume ognasty agrees with it as he made it.

I agree to the og nasty split with everyone else who agrees to the og nasty split.

If you have not agreed to the og nasty split by the time voting ends, then I will give whoever didn't agree the amount I suggested in my split so if I win the 4btc, and you didn't agree to the og nasty split, if you came in 2nd place you get 0.5 btc... if you're 3rd place you get 0.35btc.... if you're 4th place you get 0.15btc....

For everyone that agreed to the og nasty split, you will get 0.7 btc no matter what you place.

Decoded, you're the last one, if you agree to the og nasty split, it guarantees everyone in the competition a minimum of about 800 dollars. So please, let's just all agree?

I'll go with the OgNasty split as long as everyone agrees with it.

Not at home right now, but I also need to check for whoever has staked their account. Because as far as I know, the only account I can link you guys to is the forum account.

Not saying that anyone will scam, the fact is that most of you could. Although OgNasty doesn't really have that option. :)
