Fundstrat’s Tom Lee, one of the biggest equity bears among the major Wall Street strategists, says it’s possible, but not necessarily for the reasons many bitcoin bulls have suggested.

“One of the drivers is crypto-currencies are cannibalizing demand for gold,” Lee wrote in a recent report. “Based on our model, we estimate that bitcoin’s value per unit could be $20,000 to $55,000 by 2022 — hence, investors need to identify strategies to leverage this potential rise in crypto-currencies.”

I read this article a few days ago. She gives very little evidence for where she got that number from. Is $55k possible? Sure. But so is $55. I think any numbers that people come up with for a future Bitcoin price beyond the scope of a few days is just like pulling numbers out of a hat.

It's just an unreal amount of money. If the question is sideways, businessmen should think very well about the currency, this issue will affect them in the future.

55,000 may be a shocking number, but if current growth trend will stay stable we may see even greater growth, as the demand for Bitcoin will grow as a result of more and more companies accepting payments in Bitcoin, and that leading to Bitcoin being more widespread and having more liquidity.

The price of 55,000 .... is incredible. In order for the price to reach this size, demand for bitcoin should increase dramatically. I do not think that this is possible in the near future.

He sells useless product to this day and is rich from it. May not want to listen but it would not hurt to sometimes.
