Why not? ETH was specifically created as gas for smart contracts and Bitcoin is meant to pay for goods and services. I don't see them as being in competition.

They can and often are used as mixers. There is a chance however that the coins from your old output could potentially be sent back to you though.

True mixers usually have a system in place to make sure the coins you send are not the ones you receive.

Very few services allow credit card purchase of Bitcoin. I think you need to be a big name reputable company to get such permission.

Taking bank transfers is probably an easier task.
