Re: Winklevii ETF getting a second look!

At this point I just believe they are humoring them. There reason for the decision that they cited was because of the doubt they had in bitcoins ability to be stable.

It's stability and backing have not changed.

While the article is interesting, I am not sure that I agree with Shrem's opinion that the unlimited developers also agree that segwit is the best solution for the blocksize debate.

In a monumental moment for NastyMining, the switch was flipped just a short while ago to activate our SunPower system. We are now officially solar powered! Excellent. This is good news surely. The savings in power cost is going to make our mining return so much more valuable. I really think you hav...

Good job on these.

Re: If people are wondering why there are not more companies supporting big blocks, the recent smear campaign shows why.

The biggest problem is the fear of what could happen in the event of a fork. Having 2 semi supported chains could be disastrous for Bitcoin. You would essentially have 2 currencies for a while until one failed.

This will be a great play where we can see segwit in a production environment and users will be able to weigh the consequences vs benefits. Hopefully it can turn the tide of the debate in either direction.

The only way to mine inexpexpensively is a small USB miner, and the amount of Bitcoin you would be able to mine would likely not be worth your time or effort.

Cryptography is powerful. It had hidden secrets, maintained privacy and even won wars. The German use of the enigma machine is what I see as the birth of modern cryptography.

Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction from Notable Investor: $500,000 by 2030

I think 500k is a gross overestimation. For it to even get into the six figure ranges it would need to be globally accepted just about everywhere. Banks would need to be willing to directly handle fiat to BTC transfers, It would need to be at a level where you could use BTC to pay your rent or mortg...

This is bad news, if many banks start doing this, purchases of Bitcoin could significantly decrease as many users would be affraid to send wire transfers to exchanges.
