Re: What is a UASF?

My thoughts on UASF copied from my own comment on reddit: UASF is fun, as it gives some users what they want. But the problem with UASF is that it's completely exploitable and untrustworthy; once you introduce UASF as a way to change the Bitcoin protocol, you can then say let's UASF the 21m coin lim...

Airbitz and the Bitcoin Fork

Should Bitcoin Unlimited achieve 75% majority of mining power, it would become the “strongest chain” and define the rules for the network. By default, light-client wallets (SPV) and mobile wallets like Airbitz, are designed to follow the strongest chain. Therefore, they would not be able to recogniz...

Re: Bitcoin protocol upgrade (hard fork) FAQs

This is precicly what emergent consensus is looking to do, fix the 1MB limit (it's a bug, certainly not a feature) through a protocol upgrade. The 1 mb limit is not a bug. This is exactly the ridiculous response I expected from you. Let me guess, you aren't a developer and are relying on what Core ...

Hard forks were done in the past to fix bugs in the code that caused the network to inadvertently fork. This is precicly what emergent consensus is looking to do, fix the 1MB limit (it's a bug, certainly not a feature) through a protocol upgrade. This is very different from a contentious hard fork....

Re: BitPay: Why We're Updating the Minimum BitPay Payment Amount

It makes sense, as paying a 30 cent fee on a .04 cent transaction only creates wallet dust and further congests the network. Yes makes sense for BitPay and other businesses. It does not make sense for Bitcoin though to be going through all these fee issues under a premature artificially induced fee...
