Re: Why are so many users being banned in /r/btc?

As FUBAR mentioned, it is more than just PokerTravis and his alts. Three others were banned/muted for questioning/criticizing moderators. "If you have a problem with us, leave" isn't a very good policy for a healthy discussion forum, it is just reinforcement of group think among an ever smaller ...

Why are so many users being banned in /r/btc?

Now dskloet too!

https://r.go1dfish.me/r/btc/about/log#?theme=btc

This policy of "my way or the highway" is only going to undermine /r/btc as a free and uncensored forum, if criticism of moderator policies, actions, behavior or character all result in a quick ban and no appeals.

This is being censored on /r/bitcoin. Very irritating.

Re: Blockchain panel at Sibos—an influential banking conference—is standing room only

The videos coming out of this are pretty hilarious. They have no clue what Bitcoin or even Blockchain actually are.

Re: How Bitcoin can stop war

There was an article made into a short film that takes this a bit further and may be interesting.

Wow, great video. I checked most of the quotes, especially the early ones. Most are real, the Benjamin Franklin one is misattributed, but he did say ...

Re: How Bitcoin can stop war

The country where only fiat is used (country A) would certainly have a medium-term advantage over the country with an intrinsically limited currency (country B) in paying for military costs. If country A can decisively win in that time, then yes, they would win in the long run.

There's a couple of ...

Re: [coindesk] KeepKey Launches New Bitcoin Hardware Wallet

Way too expensive to be worth it for me, but I can see people who deal with large amounts of Bitcoin as part of their jobs not being too bothered by the price.

Re: How Bitcoin can stop war

First of all I just want to say that I find this very interesting and I really enjoy ideas of how Bitcoin could change the world!

Sure it has. Because wars are fiercely expensive (both materially and in blood) when they cannot be paid for they tend to end relatively quickly. There are many ...

Going with Snow Crash here.

Sounds interesting. It sounds like corporate feudalism, which did seem like a realistic scenario we were heading towards, but I don't think so now. In a hyperinflationary scenario like mentioned in the article, it's large ...

What sci-fi or cyberpunk fiction has ended up most true to life?

I feel like decentralized cryptocurrency is something that was universally missed in all the sci-fi shows and games etc. in my experience. Even in contexts where it makes absolutely no sense, in gaming at least your currency will still almost certainly be a centralized bank account, and in the few ...

Re: What sub-forums would you like to see?

Somewhere for Bitcoin peer to peer lending sites! BTCjam in particular is severely lacking in a forum so it would be good to have a default place to discuss all the issues around those.
