My bitcoin wallet doesn't actually hold my bitcoin. What it does is hold my bitcoin address, which keeps a record of all of my transactions, and therefore of my balance.

I know people irl who have been told BitcoinCash is Bitcoin, and have struggled to understand what was going on.

This is a property of Bitcoin in general. That's what a soft-fork is. The key being that you need a majority of hashpower to do this.

Don't ever import your private keys into an exchange.

Just get a Bitcoin Cash client/wallet and import it there. You can then send your coins to your exchange.

Even after you get past the "soft" fork, it bugs me when people say "increase the block size" and omit the word limit.

Most of the nodes with Classic are new, though. Anyway, point is XT and Classic don't do anything until 75% consensus. So isn't it better to go to Classic?
