应收账款在供应链金融中是债权流通的一种方式，正是因为应收账款的形成和转让才形成了供应链金融这个运作模式。供应链金融的存在就是为了盘活这大量的应收账款，提高资金周转率。

供应链金融是为了给供应链上下游中小企业提供更便捷的融资模式而产生。同时也为金融机构带来了新的盈利点和开创了新的商业模式。但是在现今市场上，供应链金融仍然存在着较大的信用风险，供应链上所涉及到的节点较多，从而加大了整个供应链融资的信用风险，各个金融机构往往会因为中小企业较高的信用风险而放弃为其融资，那么从根本意义上来说，并没有达到提高为中小企业融资几率的目的。

供应链金融的本质是金融机构通过供应链的模式，对核心企业和上下游企业进行融资授信。如果供应链中任何一个节点发生违约，那就会造成了整个供应链融资的风险。
